Introduction
AGB Nielsen Media Research (Philippines) is the subsidiary of AGB Nielsen Media Research, a joint venture formed by the AGB Group & the TAM business of The Nielsen Company in March 2005. As part of AGB Nielsen Media Research’s global business our local operation is guaranteed of continuous training of human resources and the interminable development of existing and new products and services.
We have been providing the Philippine Broadcast & Advertising industry with TAM data since 1992 as Nielsen Media Research and from 1999 as AGB Philippines, providing then a panel of viewers that covers Metro Manila, and all urban areas of Rizal, Laguna, Cavite and Bulacan and some parts of Pampanga.
In 2006, AGB Nielsen Media Research embarked on an ambitious plan of establishing the Philippines’ first national TAM panel. The National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) Panel was launched in October 2006. NUTAM covers 95% of all urban areas of the country, with a population of more than 34 million individuals.
Cognizant of the ever increasing importance of some cities as the main economic drivers for certain regions, AGB Nielsen Media Research also reports on three (3) metropolitan cities dubbed as the Metro City TAM (MCTAM). In addition to Metro Manila, TV viewing in Cebu City, Iloilo City and Davao City are included in the MCTAM.
