Commercial: it is the classical advertising generally called SPOT announcement grouped and broadcast in BREAK, placed inside or outside the events.
In some events (mainly sports events, i.e. football matches, ski competitions and Formula 1 races, etc.) "spotflashes" lasting 5/7" called "Ad-Hoc" are broadcast and are included in the classical Commercials.
Autopubblicità is considered as a classical advertising but the advertiser belongs to the same publishing group of the station or network broadcasting the spot (for instance, ERI for RAI subscription campaign, the website of Mediasetonline, etc.).
Invites to see are advertisements lasting 5/7" by which the advertiser invites, in more ways than one, the viewers to watch a programme.
This typology includes:
Invite to see-start/end, billboard:broadcast immediately before and/or after the beginning or the end of an event.
Invites to see-Prom broadcast immediately before and/or after the beginning or the end of a promo.
Invites to see-Jingle: broadcast next to breaks inside an event. The advertiser is also the sponsor of the event.
Diari: invites to see inside a frame broadcast before a break and usually next to an advertised event. The frame of the diary highlights the channel which will broadcast the event advertised by the promo.
The 'diari' are planned by the media seller and, during one day, advertise one only client.
7X7: invites to see enclosed in a frame graphically different from the one of the diary and broadcast at the bottom of a break and next to a promo. The frame emphasizes the channel which will broadcast the event advertised by the promo. The 7X7 are weekly planned by the media seller; 7 issues a day are planned on average as well as one only client per week.
Manchettes are the 'diari' of La7 network. The advertised event is not always on the air.
Citazioni are next to a promo (Citazione Promo) before or after the beginning or the end of an event (also called CEE Billboard or Citazione Programma)
This typology is different from other types of invites to see as:
A. The packaging of the product is never advertised in the spot
B. No type of sound or spot promotion are aired
C. The word "advertising" is not superimposed
Social Campaign: messages broadcast in order to make the public aware of subject-matters of social interest. They can be promoted by governmental bodies or other public or private institutions
