Forecasting, Planning and Optimisation (FPO)


FPO provides the software for interactive TV campaign planning, optimising and buying, helping users select the best available airtime or forecast future ratings.

Planning and Optimising has been developed based on three basic principles:

  • Because airtime selling practices vary radically from country to country, it is imperative that the database structure is extremely flexible and customisable.
  • Because every planner in every market ‘plans’ differently, the planning workflow needs to be freely defined by the user.
  • Because Excel is the main competitor, the Planning Grid must be equally as powerful.

The planning tool is an integral part of Arianna, allowing users to freely move from Planning and Optimisation to Viewing Behaviour and Post Evaluation modules.


FPO Modules and Analysis

Forecasting has been designed to generate estimates of future programs or break performance and predict ratings of events (programs, breaks and dayparts) in a future program schedule. It is useful for broadcasters wanting to understand how a future programming schedule could rate and for media planners when building and planning an advertising campaign

Planning supports media planners define the most effective media plan by assisting in the selection of the best available airtime using reliable audience estimates to achieve their goals.

Arianna’s Optimiser is designed to help media planners quickly identify the most effective media plan by using specific planning goals and constraints to automatically create the most efficient set of potential TV campaigns.

The advertising plan can be analysed using a range of variables including GRP, Reach and Frequency, Effective Reach, Cost/GRP and the Affinity index. Users are free to explore the proposed plans using custom criteria to ensure that their complex and inter-related objectives are precisely met.

The Reports Area is available for all planning grids and gives users the ability to understand the GRP, Reach and Frequency and campaign cost. Arianna’s unique Reach and Frequency report allows users to evaluate the reach contribution of each event in a plan and to make adjustments by removing spots not contributing to the overall cumulative reach.

Custom built summaries are available which provide insights into the planned campaign’s spread across channels, dayparts, events, days, targets and more.

Validation allows users to match and compare the planned campaign with the true list of broadcast spots, providing media agencies with an indispensable tool for campaign auditing.
