The mission of Nielsen’s Corporate Support Centre and its specialist subsidiaries is:
To establish a repository of Nielsen expertise in the support of operating companies and in establishing new
companies, providing state-of-the-art hardware and software as well as expert client and consulting services.
The Nielsen Corporate Support Centre is responsible for providing operating companies with products and services including:
- Research, development, production, maintenance and support of proprietary metering technology;
- In-house development, maintenance and support of proprietary Production Software, for data polling, validation, weighting and quality control;
- In-house development for the efficient production of TVEvents data; and
- In-house development of analysis software for viewing behaviour analysis, TV planning and optimisation,
advertising expenditure analysis and campaign post-evaluation.
The Corporate Support Centre is also responsible for:
- Securing the Nielsen brand name through the control of quality standards;
- Providing training and support to operational companies in all aspects of the Nielsen TAM system;
- Establishing new operations; and
- International marketing and communications for the Nielsen companies.
