Australian TV audience ratings supplier OzTAM is to begin reporting time-shifted FTA TV viewing from Feb 2010, following trials with the UNITAM peoplemeter. The system, using audio matching technology to track when recorded programs are viewed, can be used to monitor pay-TV, FTA and digital terrestrial channels. With the Seven-based TiVo PVR due to be rolled out in 1H2008 and sales of Foxtel iQ PVRs growing, media buyers and network representatives have nominated time-shifting as the most urgent measurement issue facing the industry.
